Although we are in our early days of being a charity we are also realistic and by no means experts at life…however when discussing life and my career with a very wise and important ex colleague/friend I came back to the same position of how we as humans can make changes that fit in with our expectations; and make those hopes realities.
The answer that triggered MY mind was let’s change the narrative – and that is what The Believe In Bee foundation will help you to do! Once you change the narrative “the repeated thoughts/answers to questions people ask or questions that you ask yourself” you start to invite all signs of change within your life.
Its as simple as that who would’ve thought? You are probably rolling your eyes and thinking that’s quite easy for you to say Jhiselle…. “you haven’t experienced life/abuse/loss/walked a day in my shoes….you’re in a good spot your life is amazing” but the reality no life is amazing, life is a struggle but when you’re up against those hurdles you need to change The voice inside your head. Surprise yourself, say something Different and Better give yourself a chance to Do Better
I have worked with hundreds of clients in situations which have cost the lives of many including my sister!
Shedding the coat of shame, self blame, and worthlessness is the first step – when you look at yourself in the mirror each day give yourself one positive comment and believe for example, “I am worthy…I am smart…I am ambitious…I’m a good mother/father/sister/brother/son/daughter” this is your affirmation for your day, this is the first step on your path of change and self acceptance!
Be honest with yourself first, and change the narrative of sentences like “I can’t leave him/I can’t leave her because they’ll kill me” to “How can I make today a safer day/ who can I talk to to make sure that I can make today a safer day?”
Perpetrators make serious threats but the threat of being caught and reprimanded is greater and saves lives including yours, your children, your children’s children; friends, family…..the list goes on.
Challenge yourself! Change the narrative STOP saying to yourself that “I can’t/ yleave him/ I can’t leave her” say to yourself “Leaving X means I can smile, see friends….do that course…travel, go out and experience freedom….” Make a list of things you will do and achieve once you’ve taken the better path, and give yourself small realistic and achievable goals.
The mind is the most powerful organ in the body. Once you start changing your mindset “I WILL not I CANT” you start making those dreams a reality!
Only you have the key to your door of success! Success is a butterfly effect. It is measured by you and fuelled by your desires. You begin to feel free to do and be who you want! So on this freezing cold Tuesday that’s what I want you to think about. The concept of changing your language, creating positive ideas and start saying “I WILL”.
Believe In Bee Foundations Tuesday inspiration is dedicated to Junior Smart who recently received an OBE from Her Majesty the Queen at the beginning of the Month.
Drawn into a gang at the age of 18, Junior Smart found himself trapped in a life of criminality with no way of escape.
We want to say a huge congratulations to a friend, professional and advocate for our young people who recieved an OBE in 2020 by Her Majesty herself – Junior Smart!!! Junior You have changed so many kids, moms, dads, brothers and sisters lives; you have and always will be 💯 and continue to be “committed to the cause“ From meeting you in 2013 I knew you was a rare special talent and human being! Keep flying the flag for change …. please listen and read his journey which by no means was easy.
